Hello families,
I hope everyone had a safe and healthy, April break! As all of you know, we are unable to return to school this year which is very heartbreaking. I will continue to post weekly centers to our classroom website for your child to work on at home (Optional). Please, see below for this week's centers.
Puppet Show (Dramatic Play): Have your child make a puppet/puppets out of paper bags or construction paper. Your child can use markers, crayons, paint, stickers ect.. to decorate their puppet. Once puppet is ready, your child can put on a pretend show for the whole family.
"I Wish I Had a [Pet Name] Book! (Writing) Staple or tape several pieces of paper together to create a booklet. On the front cover, write, "I Wish I Had a _________" Leave the middle of the page blank for your child to draw a picture of the animal they wish they had, and on the bottom of the page, write, "By: ___________" for your child to write their name on. The inside pages may be used for drawing additional pictures and "writing" a story about why your child wants this animal, describing the animal, listing traits they like about the animal, and different ways they might play or take care of the animal. When your child is finished, have them "read" their story to you!
Clay/Play-dough Animal Sculpture (Art): Creates three-dimensional art work. Have your child sculpt/create their favorite animal using play dough or clay! Talk to your child about what their favorite animal is and why? When your child is all finished with their sculpture, take a picture.
Grandparents Day Activity: April 30th would have been Grandparent's Day at school. I hope everyone had a safe and healthy, April break! As all of you know, we are unable to return to school this year which is very heartbreaking. I will continue to post weekly centers to our classroom website for your child to work on at home (Optional). Please, see below for this week's centers.

The inside pages may be used for drawing additional pictures and "writing" a story about why your child wants this animal, describing the animal, listing traits they like about the animal, and different ways they might play or take care of the animal. When your child is finished, have them "read" their story to you!

Week of 4/6
Hello families!
I hope everyone is staying healthy and well! It's been so nice seeing everyone in our Zoom meetings! Next week we will be taking a break from our Owl curriculum. Below I listed some fun Easter activities for your children to work on at home! Please keep the photos coming of your children engaging in these activities.
Easter Egg Stamping (Art) - Take one half of a plastic Easter egg (you can use Q-tips if you don't have Easter eggs), dip it in paint and stamp on paper of your choosing. Let it dry and cut them into Easter egg shapes to hang up!
Sensory Bin (Sensory) - Take a large bin or box and fill it with rice and plastic Easter eggs. Children can play, scoop, dump, and pour the rice with the Eggs. Warning - can be messy, so it may be best to try in an outdoor space or on the floor over a garbage bag that can minimize clean-up!
Tissue Paper Cross (Art)- Draw a cross on paper or cut the shape of a cross out of paper. Cut little squares of different colored tissue paper out (use construction paper if you don't have tissue paper) and glue onto the cross, covering all of the negative space. These come out so nice!!
Jellybean letter tracing (Writing)- Write a letter on paper and use jelly beans to shadow write the shape of the letter. After you are done, you have a yummy treat to eat!
Alphabet Easter Egg Hunt - Write letters on small pieces of paper or use magnetic letters and place inside plastic Easter eggs. Let your child go on an egg hunt and tell you what letter is inside each egg. See if you can find the entire alphabet and put the letters in order!
Easter Songs:
"The Way The Bunny Hops!"
